Ammonia sulfate

Ammonium sulfate is an inorganic compound that appears as a white crystal or powder and is highly soluble in water. It is commonly used as a fertilizer and industrial material, serving as a source of nitrogen and sulfur in agriculture to promote crop growth. Additionally, ammonium sulfate is used in industries such as textiles, leather, and wood as a dye and preservative. In the laboratory, it is used as a precipitant, often with other compounds, for separating and purifying biological molecules such as proteins and nucleic acids.

Properties: The industrial product is a white or light-colored crystal with a relative density of D=1.769. It decomposes at 235℃ and is soluble in water, resulting in an acidic solution. It is insoluble in ethanol and acetone, has hygroscopicity, and tends to form blocks after absorbing moisture. When reacting with alkalis, it releases ammonia gas.

Uses: Ammonium sulfate is mainly used to manufacture compound fertilizers, potassium sulfate, ammonium chloride, ammonium persulfate, and other products. It can also be used in the extraction of rare earth minerals.

Packaging: Ammonium sulfate is packaged in multi-layer bags (outer plastic woven bags and inner polyethylene film bags) or composite plastic woven bags (plastic woven fabric/film) in 25kg/50kg/ton packages.

Storage and transportation: It can be transported by car, train, ship, and other means of transportation. During transportation, it should be protected from moisture and package damage. It should be stored in a flat, cool, well-ventilated, and dry warehouse. It is strictly prohibited to contact with alkaline substances such as lime and cement or store together with them. The height of the stacked packaging should not exceed 7m.
